Grain is also a major production and export crop of Kazakhstan, with the government investing heavily to increase grain production by focusing on boosting yield rather than expanding area.
The Russian fishing industry is the world's fourth largest, behind Japan, the United States, and China and the timber industry contributes about $20 billion annually to the Russian economy.
