US Department of Treasury: A Currency Facelift
From 2003 through 2010, PBN Hill+Knowlton Strategies provided strategic communications and project management expertise to the U.S. Department of Treasury, the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) and the Federal Reserve Board for the introduction of new U.S. currency.
Our assignment was to increase awareness and understanding of the security and anti-counterfeiting features of the new banknotes among the public and key audiences in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, four countries that represent more than one-tenth of all U.S. dollars in circulation worldwide. Working in close cooperation with each country's Central Bank, PBN H+K provided full communications services targeting key stakeholders in the government, the banking and business communities, retail trade and the general public. With the launch of each note, the firm exceeded the metrics established by the United States government for awareness and action.
