Nordstream: Energy Security
PBN Hill+Knowlton Strategies’ corporate communications and public affairs activities have helped enable Nord Stream to maintain open dialogue with public decision-makers, enhance information flow at an international level and position Nord Stream as a committed and responsible player on energy and environmental issues.
The campaign culminated in the global Celebrating the Arrival of Gas event in Lubmin, Germany in November 2011. Heads of state, business leaders and leading journalists were among the 500 guests who gathered at Lubmin on Germany's Baltic Sea coast for a formal celebration of the arrival of Russian gas in Europe via the Nord Stream pipeline. After years of planning and 18 months of construction work, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other European leaders inaugurated the first line of the Nord Stream gas pipeline, which transports gas from Russia under the Baltic Sea to supply the European market.
