Facebook: Educating Stakeholders
PBN Hill+Knowlton Strategies has been the strategic communications advisor to Facebook since March 2014.
We’ve mapped out a stakeholder engagement and activation plan identifying key issue areas and risks as well as a contact program that keeps relations fresh. We advise on a number of fronts ranging from corporate positioning and policy communication to educating stakeholders about Facebook’s monetization model and developer and platform offerings. We actively monitor various information policy issues for the client such as terrorism, data storage and piracy. Keeping up with changes and amendments to the regulatory framework within Russia is an ongoing job. We maintain good working relations and an open door policy with the regulator Roskomnadzor. When there were misperceptions about the social network’s Community Standards in Ukraine, a team was mobilized to meet with officials there and explain to media Facebook’s policies and standards. Our goal is to sustain Facebook’s positive reputation, address risks immediately and grow the social network’s community.
