Diageo is the world’s leading premium drinks business with a wide portfolio of brands. For more than a decade, PBN Hill+Knowlton Strategies served as the lead political and government relations strategist in Diageo's long-standing trademark dispute involving its world-famous Smirnoff trademark.
This successful effort included working with trademark regulatory officials, political officials, legislative leaders and the court systems in Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, and the Baltic countries. It also involved extensive litigation support and a major media and profile raising campaign targeting international forums and organizations, including the International Trademark Association, the World Intellectual Property Organization, the World Customs Organization and Interpol.
