Bank of New York Mellon: An Amicable Solution
Bank of New York Mellon had a big problem in Russia in 2007. The bank found itself subject to a multi-billion dollar money-laundering lawsuit filed in the Moscow State Arbitration Court by a group of U.S.-based trial lawyers on behalf of the Russian Federal Customs Service.
PBN H+K Strategies drafted a public message track that supported both the court case and highest-level government advocacy. We also managed the extensive media coverage of the case in Russia and around the world. After a two-year litigation process, the parties managed to reach an amicable $14 million settlement, with minimal damage to Bank of New York Mellon’s reputation globally and in Russia.
